Eureka Seven Fusion, ch10.5 by ~mikeystoy:iconmikeystoy:

                                               Eureka Seven; Fusion.
                                           Chapter 10.5; Reparations.

It was three days and four thousand kilometers before it was known what had been done. Any trace of regret was immediately annihilated before it could become conscious thought. For the duration of the trip, they took turns driving and sleeping drawing on the training instilled in them by Dewey Novack.
America took the last leg of their trip, arriving in South Aries shortly after four in the afternoon, when the shadows were growing longer and the sky took on a yellowed tinge.
She removed a folder paper from her pocket and steered the stolen car to the address depicted on it. They still had time before the meeting was to start. With luck, no one would have even heard about the Jurgens here.
America lay back in the seat and closed her eyes. Her thoughts took her back to when Dewey found her in the refugee camp outside Warsaw.
She was only ten, dirty, near starvation and sleeping in the burned-out shell of a car. He offered her food, and she like a wild animal, practically tore his arm off receiving it.
He offered her kindness, and after a time, she accepted his hospitality. She was the first member in the squad and it took her some time to trust the others as they were inducted.
She and the rest of the team were not to be part of the ‘Eureka’ project; in fact Anemone was the only success to come from that and even with some side effects.
It wasn’t easy; the process to become the Agaha Squad, there were long nights of dreamless sleep hooked to brainwave generators for the purpose of tapping into their subconscious.
She remembered being tired all the time, enduring the rigorous training sessions during the day. But she enjoyed the hand-to-hand combat and relished the firearms training.
The others may have had a harder time, but they didn’t have much of a personal relationship. They’d spent the last eighteen months biding their time together waiting for Eureka to resurface. With the discovery of the third soul-signature, she may have.
They had found the rifles among the wreckage in building back in Warsaw and buried them in their clubhouse. America had always been aware of the growing anti Coralian movement and kept a vigilant watch on its center. She and the others stayed in contact with its leaders through E-Mail and set up this meeting. She was told there would be over two thousand members and it was still growing.
America glanced at her watch; Four-thirty. She glanced at her fellow officers sleeping in their seats and closed her eyes again. Sleep came quickly for the fatigued young woman. Dreams did not.
True to her training; she awoke ten minutes before the specified time and shook her comrades awake.
“It’s time.” She said as she tucked the revolver into her jeans. This was no time to be careless.
They walked to a side entrance where they were greeted by a large black man guarding the door. Recognizing them immediately; he ushered them into a small room in the rear of the building.
A thin light haired man sat at a desk in the corner intensely staring into a laptop computer screen.
  “Daniel.” America said.
The young man spun in his seat.
“You must be America.” He said, shaking her hand. She smiled as he led her to a long couch and motioned for them to sit.
“You know what we are about.” He said seriously. America nodded.
“What do you think of the third blip in the Compact Drive?” She asked. He considered.
“Could be anything, could be nothing. Hell; it could even be the pro-Coralian crowd messing with us.” He said.
America looked to the others, disappointed.
“But;” He said. “Let’s say for the sake of argument there’s a new Saint. A new Coralian. Does this mean that Eureka is no longer alive? What of the human boy with her?”
  She spread her hands.
“Either way, we have the means to scour them from OUR Earth.” He smiled grimly.
The girls smiled with him, this was good news to hear.

A long time in coming and it comes off as "cheap"
I was going to write about the meeting in the hall of anti coralian peeps, but I really can't come up with anything. Looking for suggestions........Jedi? Matsurd?
If I come up with anything, I'll add it later. I find I'm having a really hard time writing about these girls, I'm not an evil person and tend to notice the good in everyone. Maybe I should hang out with more "bad" people..........

I am not sure if this is your intent with the overall storyline but it might add a bit more intrigue if one or more of the girls starts to have a sense of ever increasing doubt(s) about the doctrine imposed on them by Dewy, and which is currently guiding their actions. To the point they might turn to side with the pro-coralian movement. Basically, what I am saying is a growing sense of unrest and mistrust among the Ageha squad. Otherwise not bad, not to bad at all.

Perhaps the term evil is no the one to use. It is clear they are only proactive to their cause and confident of it's need to succeed. This by no means constitutes evil. Yes, killing in the manner they did might be found as socially unacceptable but if anything, their "training" has made them nothing more than puppet. Puppets cannot be evil but that is another matter. I would have to say they are calculating and try to be unforgiving. But I doubt Dewey's manipulation of them was completely successful. And that, if you may, might lead to some interesting paths.

As to what should replace the term "evil"?

Faithful.

I agree; but the 4 characters in the word evil are so much easier to type than trying to point out that the they are doing the right thing in their minds for the sake of the world.
Did I fail to mention I'm being lazy right now?
